Victorian History:
Making the Headlines - History as It Happened

Home > History, Archaeology & Folklore > History > Headlines - History as It Happened

It's easy to forget that what is "history" to us was "headline news" in its day. Many Victorian magazines provided brief news roundups of major events that had occurred in the month preceding publication. Some of these roundups focused on the magazine's home country; others covered topics from around the world. Here's a collection of today's history as seen in yesterday's headline news!
