Birds of the World

Home > Victorian Clip Art, Images & Art Prints > Wildlife > Birds of the World

From the most exotic avians of the tropical jungles, to the familiar garden birds right here at home, you'll find them all in this amazing collection of bird images drawn from three of the leading references of the Victorian era: Charles Knight's gigantic Museum of Animated Nature (ca. 1856), Cassell's four-volume Book of Birds (1874), and Louis Figuier's Reptiles and Birds (1869). This collection brings you hundreds of birds from around the world, including such exotic creatures as the Horned Sun-Gem (a type of hummingbird), the Red-Beaked Ox-Biter, the White-Rumped Babbler, and the Wrinkle-Beaked Tick-Eater. (I'm not making these up!) You'll also find more familiar birds under, sometimes, some rather less familiar names, such as the Crested Blue Jackdaw (more commonly known as the bluejay). The collection also includes 40 gorgeous full-color prints from Cassell's. Let your imagination soar!
