Managing the Victorian Home

Victorian magazines had one similarity with women's magazines today: They were filled with tips on how to manage one's home. Of course, the issues involved have changed a bit; no longer, for instance, are we likely to find extensive features on how to deal with the servant problem! But articles on home décor, furnishings, crafts for the home, cleaning tips, and managing a budget were as popular then as now. These articles provide a wonderful glimpse of just how the Victorian home was (or should be) run!
